Danuta Konwicka

She was born on the 3rd of February in 1930 in Poznan. Died on the 30th of August in 1999 in Warsaw. Graphic artist and illustrator. Daughter of Alfred Lenica, sister of Jan Lenica and wife of Tadeusz Konwicki. She studied at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Konwicka received her diploma in graphics under Tadeusz Kulisiewicz's protection. For over 50 years, she's been illustrating children's books. Best known are: "Gaska i Malgosia", "Zwierzoczlekoupior", and "Pamietnik Pikusia". Her favourite theme were animals, especially cats. She was combining many techniques such as watercolor, gouache, crayon.
