Jan Bokiewicz

He was born in 1941 in Warsaw. Graphic artist, book designer, he also designs logotypes, advertisements, posters and book covers. He graduated from Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in 1967 with a diploma in graphics under profesor Waclaw Walkowski. Author of underground opposition materials. In 1981 he won a competition for "Solidarnosc" poster, however, the whole edition was confiscated. Bokiewicz signed his work with the name "Be", "Studio Be" or his own last name. The books he designed was awarded with innumerable prizes for the most beautiful book of the year.
