Leszek Rozga
Born on March 18th, 1924. In 1945-6, he attended a private course in painting and drawing; in 1948-51, he studied at the State College of Fine Arts in Łódź, and in 1951-54, at the gRaphic Faculty of the Katowice branch of the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. He practices drawing, graphic art and painting. In 1960-2009, he had one hundred seventy one-man shows of prints, drawings and paintings, and took part in about five hundred group exhibitions at home and abroad. He has obtained numerous prizes and honourable mentions including the 2nd prize and medal at the Second Drawing Triennale in Wrocław in 1968; the 1st prize and Gold Medal at the Polish Print Exhibition in 1969, and the 2nd prize in 1978. In 1971, the Minister of Culture and Art awarded him a third-class prize, in 1974 a second-class prize and in 1981 a first-class prize. In 1972, he obtained the Prize of the Region of Łódź, and in 1985, the Prize of the City of Łódź.
