Jan Marcin Szancer

He was born in 1902. Died in 1973. Szancer studied at Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in 1920-1926 under Wladyslaw Jarocki, Jozef Mehoffer, Teodor Axentowicz and Karol Frycz and then he moved to study in Paris. In 30s, his paintings and drawings were exhibited multiple Times in Cracow, Poznan or Belgrade. After the World War II, his main occupation became book illustration - mainly for children's book.
