Jan Mlodozeniec
Jan Mlodozeniec lived in the years 1929-2000. Between 1948 and 1955 studied graphics at Henryk Tomaszewski’s workshop. One of the major polish artist of 20th century, outstanding poster designer and graphics artist, also a painter. One of the top artist of the Polish Poster School group. Author of over 400 posters, book covers, illustrations, drawings. Laureate of Minister Of Culture and Art Prize. Awarded many times in Poland and abroad. Best known posters are design for cinema (Once Upon time in America, The Great Gatsby, The Godfather), theatral ( Fedra Racine, Wyspiański, Czechow). His style was very characteristic: full of logic, intensive colours, childish expression, sense of humour, synthesis. His works are in many prestigious collections, private and Museum, for example in Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Kunstbibliothek in Berlin, Biblioteque Forney and Musee d'Arts Decoratifs in Paris, Museum of Modern Art in New Jork.
