Mieczysław Piotrowski
Born in 1910 in Lviv, died in 1977 in Warsaw. A graduate of the following Warsaw Universities: Higher Education School of Journalism (1931) and Academy of Fine Arts (1934). The author of caricatures, cartoons, humorous drawings, book illustrations, plays, novels, books for children. Lecturer and president of National Film School in Lodz. He made his debut in "Pobudka" weekly magazine in 1966. Than he made drawings for the periodicals: "Cyrulik warszawski", "Wróble na dachu", "Rózgi", "Mucha", "Szpilki", and after the war for "Kultura" and "Literatura". Laureate of the National Prize for the activity in the field of satire (1950), he was awarded twice with the "Złota Szpilka" prize (!966 and 1968), "Złota Szpilka z Wawrzynem'77" prize and an IBA Silver Medal (Leipzig) for "Szare Uszko" ("Grey Ear").
